Enthusiasm danced followed by Euphoria, Joy made so many leaps that it ended up convincing Doubt, and even Apathy, which was never interested in anything.

But not everyone wanted to participate, Pessimism did not want to, in the end they always found him, the Idea thought it was a silly game (deep down what bothered him was that the idea of ​​playing had not been hers) and Cowardice preferred not take a chance.

The symbolism of a game

1, 2,3! Madness began to tell. The first to hide was Sloth, who, as always, dropped behind the first stone in the path. Faith rose to heaven and Envy hid behind the shadow of Triumph that, with its own effort, had managed to climb to the top of the highest tree.

Generosity could hardly hide himself, every place he found seemed wonderful to one of his friends and he thought “a crystalline lake? Ideal for Beauty. And the hollow of a tree? Perfect for Shyness. A gust of wind? Great for Freedom… ”, so he ended up hiding in a ray of sunlight.

Egoism, on the other hand, found a very good place from the beginning, airy, beautiful, sweet, but only for him. The Lie was hidden at the bottom of the ocean (a lie, it actually hid behind a rainbow), and the Passion and Desire in the center of a volcano. Oblivion forgot where it hid … but that’s not the point.

Discovering feelings

When Madness counted 999,999, Love had not found a place to hide, because everything was busy, until it spotted a beautiful rose bush, and quickly decided to hide among its flowers.

One million! Madness told, and began to search. The first to appear was Sloth, who had fallen asleep 3 steps from the stone with which she fell. Then he heard Faith arguing with God in heaven about theology. Then he discovered Passion and Desire in the vibrating of volcanoes.

Behind them he found Triumph and, of course, he also knew where Envy was. He did not have to look for Selfishness, he himself shot out of his hiding place that looked beautiful, but it turned out to be a honeycomb.

From so much walking, Madness felt thirsty and when he approached the lake he discovered Beauty, and with Doubt it was even easier, because he found her sitting on a fence without deciding which side to hide.

This is how he found everyone : the Talent among the fresh grass, the Anguish in a dark cave, the Lie behind the rainbow (lie, she was at the bottom of the ocean) and even the Oblivion, which had already been forgotten that he was playing hide and seek.

The explanation of blind love

Only Love did not appear anywhere, Madness searched behind every tree, every stream on the planet, at the top of the mountains. And, when she was about to give up, she spotted the rose bush, but for fear of getting pricked by the thorns, she took a rod and began to move the branches, when suddenly a painful cry was heard.

The thorns had hurt the eyes of Love, Madness did not know what to do to apologize, it cried, begged for forgiveness, implored it and, finally, promised to be its guide. And since then, many centuries ago, Love and Madness can be seen together. That is why Love is blind and Madness always accompanies it. “

This is a beautiful popular legend, some consider a story because as children they were already told by the elders, about the origin of blind love and why madness always accompanies it.

And it is that when we fall madly in love, we can act in ways that from the outside or seen in hindsight seem crazy. Who hasn’t made some huge change in their life just to make their new partner happy? What person has not tried to win back an ex-partner with a romantic gesture that, seen from the future, seems totally absurd?

Luckily, over the years  love can be tempered, and with experience it is less and less frequent to do crazy things for love. However, from time to time the need still arises within us to act in some absurd way for that person we have just met and who has inexplicably managed to steal our hearts.
