The mental strategy to get what you want

Our mind, our thoughts, have much more power than we imagine. The beliefs we hold can limit or push us to achieve our goals. To a large extent, they form our reality. Therefore, there is a mental strategy that can help you achieve what you want, and this is to believe it.

We are not talking about magic, but about intention. Intention is powerful because it focuses us and helps us direct and invest all our energies in achieving our purposes. The firm belief that we can achieve a goal provides us with the motivation to act. So if you have a goal, use your mind as an ally rather than an enemy.

Believe to create

When we are children they tell us that if we want something very strongly, our request is fulfilled. This is how we make wishes when blowing out the candles on a birthday cake, when passing under a bridge or just before going to bed. As we grow up we begin to acquire limiting beliefs that take us away from this hope and optimism.

Making wishes and trusting that they will come true seems utopian, child’s play, an excess of fantasy. However this is not entirely true. When we believe something, we create it. What lives and remains in our mind ends, many times, manifesting itself in our tangible reality.

It is not about naivety, but about knowing how beliefs work and the power we acquire when we take charge of them. It is clear that before this statement we must contribute common sense: no matter how much we believe that we can fly, we will continue to be governed by the laws of physics. If we jump off a roof we will suffer a severe blow. However, there are many other aspects of life in which mental strategy plays an important role.

Limiting beliefs

The clearest example is found from the negative point of view, since it is the one we all experience most commonly. If a person firmly believes that I cannot do something, they most likely will not do it.

In the first place, because he will lose the battle before even trying. The opportunity to try and work for it will not be allowed. But secondly, because your limiting belief will boycott all your attempts to do so.

Let’s take an example. If I go to a party, where I don’t know anyone, with the belief that I’m not capable of making friends, surely I won’t. Perhaps because I will not dare to approach someone and start a conversation. But even if I overcome fear and try, my low self-confidence will lead to poor social performance.

The high anxiety that I will experience will lead me to speak in a choppy way, in an excessively low tone, without fluency and without making eye contact. I will not be able to properly follow the conversations and ultimately the interaction will be a failure. My belief has been fulfilled.

You can get what you want, but you have to believe it

Fortunately the process also works in reverse. If you are convinced that you will reach a goal, the chances of success multiply exponentially. Our actions are aimed at creating the reality that exists in our mind. Where we put our mental energy, we put our ability to create.

Thus, if I want to have a restaurant and I am confident of achieving it, I will focus my energy consistently on this goal. In a more or less direct way, this fact will lead me to take the appropriate actions to achieve it. I will have the motivation to train, develop and improve my skills. I will inform myself and be attentive to opportunities.

I will work on it with passion, dedication and perseverance. Finally my goal will have manifested, thanks to the fact that I invested my mental energy directly and constantly in my desire. Thanks to the fact that I firmly believed and without limitations that I would achieve it.

Some habits to get what you want

Having enough mental energy is vital to be able to achieve what we set out to do. In this way, it is important to develop a series of habits that help us strengthen the mind and body.

Here are some tips that will make us better able to face and overcome any circumstance.

Healthy food

The ideal is to have a healthy diet according to our needs. Remember “we are what we eat” and, therefore, it is essential that our diet is healthy and enriches us. In addition, the nutrients we consume are the main source of energy for our brain.

Exercise

It is also essential that we avoid having a too sedentary life. Physical exercise activates our body, improves blood flow and facilitates oxygenation of our body. The ideal is to exercise on a daily basis or at least 3 or 4 days a week.

Sleep adequately

Finally, in order to enjoy a strengthened mind, it is essential to rest between 7 to 8 hours during the night. Night sleep is essential for the body to regenerate and for the entire body to function more optimally. In addition, the brain needs to be rested to be in tip-top shape and stimulated.

Ultimately, you can get what you want. If you want to express a wish, put your mind to work in your favor. Identify all the thoughts that speak to you of limitations and disability and deactivate them. Get used to maintaining a clear focus of intention towards your desire, visualize it frequently, and experience the emotions that arise when feeling it as a reality. When your mind believes that it is a fact, it will direct you to create it.
