Passion Is The Energy That Gives Wings To Your Dreams

Passion is the energy that gives wings to your dreams

The monotony and routine sometimes cut “the sauce of life” and lead us, unintentionally, to extinguish the spark that gives us joy as the days go by. On the other hand, when we do activities with passion they become flashes that light up so that our existence has enthusiasm and meaning. For example, do you know that if you put passion in everything you do, time passes much faster?

Passion is a feeling that is distinguished by being very intense and deep. It can invade the whole body, paralyzing our thoughts. It gives us satisfaction and joy towards the activity we are doing. It does not understand times or obligations, but arises without forcing the activity that we are doing. It is as if we were overwhelmed, at first by indescribable feelings of happiness and satisfaction.

For example, imagine that boy, who when he plays soccer, he experiences it with such intensity that he forgets everything else. Or that woman who when she gets on a dance floor, her face changes and she begins to enjoy it enormously. Having passion for something, means, embracing your own movement and its meaning, keeping the intimate desire to repeat what gives you that joy and happiness that comes from within you.

Cultivate motivation to connect with your passion

Motivation is a psychological component that allows us to guide, maintain and carry out our behaviors. For passion to appear, first we are going to see what aspects of ourselves motivate us and propel us forward. Motivation will be a key factor to be able to connect with our passion.

Woman with motivation and passion

Passion is the ingredient that awakens our perseverance and motivation. It invites us, as if it were fuel, to keep our goals and dreams alive, and not to throw in the towel at the first change . Without passion and desire, there is no energy to do what we like, nor can we push ourselves to take action. Its absence makes us slaves of nostalgia.

In a classic way, we can speak of two types of motivation: extrinsic and intrinsic. Extrinsic motivation occurs when we perform an activity, not for our own direct satisfaction, but to achieve a result that benefits us. In this case, there is rarely real passion in what we do. For example, we would talk about all those tasks associated with our job and that we do not like: we do them because they pay us money in return.

Intrinsic motivation, on the other hand, appears when we do an activity simply for the satisfaction of doing it, without expecting more in return than what the activity itself provides us. In addition, the possibility of choice is usually one of the keys that opens the door of intrinsic motivation: this freedom acts as food for enthusiasm. It is then when we can gain momentum and feel owners of our will to explore what produces us greater enjoyment and happiness.

Passion appears if you connect with your inner child

Connecting with our passions is not always easy, because as we become adults we also carry beliefs that limit us and disconnect us from our most natural and spontaneous essence. Sometimes we forget about our dreams and wishes and settle into a rigid life, letting ourselves be carried away by daily obligations.

Something that can help us feel excited is bringing our inner child to the present, which lives within each one of us and for which we are responsible. Do you remember how it was? What things did you enjoy and were excited about? For example, maybe you liked playing on the beach and making sand castles or you loved doing puzzles and making up stories.

Motivated child

Add curiosity and dedication to what you do, as if it were the first time that you put yourself fully into what you like and enjoy. Only in this way will you combat the laziness and boredom produced by an agenda loaded with obligations. The inner child in you will be delighted to explore new hobbies and projects  that you have in mind. If you let him, he will take you to explore new worlds capable of producing that tingle that only excitement causes.

Learn and nurture your passion every day

Passion can be nurtured and learned if we rescue attention from our duties and obligations. Thus, if you have not yet found something that you are passionate about, you can follow your curiosity until you locate different activities that produce that emotion that we talked about before.

In this re-discovery, you will have to dive inside and take care of your deepest needs. Passion gives wings to your wishes and desires. No matter how long you need, you still have time to find those sources of positive emotions that over time have been sinking into the straw of the barn of your freedom. Start giving importance to your dreams, because they are the rudder that can govern and give meaning to your life from now on.
